FIS World Cup returns to Killington

The top athletes in ski racing are heading back to Killington, Vermont, this weekend. 

On Saturday and Sunday, the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Tour will be at Killington Resort for the fifth time. At this year’s HomeLight Killington Cup, the fastest female ski racers in Slalom and Giant Slalom will once again battle for the top prize on the signature Superstar trail with an immense crowd looking on below. One of those athletes is U.S. skier Mikaela Shiffrin, who attended Burke Mountain Academy in Vermont. She’s won the Slalom each year the World Cup has been to Killington, and she’s going for a repeat this weekend. 

In total, 100 athletes representing 22 countries are expected to participate. Also, Killington’s World Cup races will be broadcast to an audience of 2.1 million people in 60 countries.

This weekend, here’s the schedule for the main events: 

Saturday, Nov. 27

  • 7 a.m. - Festival Village opens

  • 10 a.m. - Giant Slalom run #1

  • 1 p.m. - Giant Slalom run 32

  • Award ceremony will immediately follow. 

Sunday, Nov. 28

  • 7 a.m. - Festival Village opens

  • 9:45 a.m. - Slalom run #1

  • 12:45 p.m. - Slalom run #2

  • Award ceremony will immediately follow.
